Mike Kruse, owner and operator of 2 Stars Legacy Blazers, spends a lot of his time with his horses on mountain trails and occasionally at the beach on the Oregon Coast.  Blazer Horses are built to carry weight and have no problems carrying riders of all sizes as they negotiate the Rocky Mountains in the northwestern United States.

Mountain Trail Rides

Mike is 6' - 2" tall and ways in excess of 215 lbs; his riding horse Wings A'Blaze (Blaze) stands at 14 hands, 2 inches tall and weighs about 1100 lbs.  Blaze has no problems carrying Mike through the lush forests, the sagebrush covered hillsides or the steep trails of the Rocky Mountains.

Each trip provides a new adventure and takes us to many photo opportunities of the picturesque landscapes in these varied settings of the northwestern United States.

Beach Rides on the Oregon Coast

Mike and Blaze get a chance to go to the Oregon Coast and ride the beaches at Nehalem Bay State Park.  Mike helps Blaze face his fears in the foamy waves as they roll in on the sandy beaches.  In the wind and the waves, mixing with the beautiful landscape of the Oregon coast, it is a wonderful experience.  The rising and ebbing tides, the morning fog and the awesome sunsets, the eternal waves and the deep sandy dunes offer many varying ride experiences on the beach.

Trip to the Oregon Coast.

Mike and Blaze make the 10 hour trip to Nehalem Bay State Park for a riding adventure on the beach with friends Dave Haynes and Dave Holliday from the Seattle, Washington area.  Here we are stopped at a rest stop near Hermiston, Oregon, halfway between Meridian, Idaho and Nehalem Bay.

Finally at the Coast.

Blaze finally gets a rest in his horse stall at Nehalem Bay State Park.  It was a long ride and Blaze needs to get his energy back.

Mike joins friends on a trail ride into Silver City in southwestern Idaho.  Friends are from left, Christina, Astrid and Tammy.  Christina and Astrid were visiting us from Switzerland.  Tammy, from Nampa, Idaho was able to provide 3 of her Blazer Horses for the ride into Silver City.  Mike is taking the picture aboard Blaze.

Photo opportunity along the trail ride into Silver City in southwestern Idaho.  Astrid has climbed down from her horse to shoot pictures from the road, while Christina, Tammy and I await aboard our horses.  Beautiful afternoon between a couple of rain storms that moved through that day.
